Abstract

Keciciran murid merupakan cabaran besar dalam melaksanakan Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2025. Inisiatif berkaitan akses kepada pendidikan diberikan penekanan untuk meningkatkan enrolmen daripada peringkat prasekolah hingga menengah atas bagi menangani keciciran murid. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti corak ruangan keciciran murid sekolah menengah di Sarawak dari tahun 2013 hingga 2018. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif yang menggunakan data ruangan (lokasi sekolah, lokasi pejabat pendidikan daerah dan sempadan daerah pendidikan) dan data bukan (maklumat keciciran daripada 190 buah sekolah menengah) yang terletak di kawasan bandar, luar bandar dan pedalaman). Analisis corak ruangan menggunakan Global Moran’s I memfokuskan pada keciciran murid daripada Kelas Peralihan hingga ke Tingkatan 5. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa keciciran murid sekolah menengah sekolah menengah di Sarawak adalah berkelompok mengikut ruang, dengan skor z melebihi 2.58 dan nilai p kurang daripada 0.01 yang mendedahkan corak ruangan yang ketara. Kesimpulannya, analisis corak ruangan keciciran murid sekolah menengah di Sarawak menggunakan Sistem Maklumat Geografi dapat digunakan untuk melaksanakan kajian lanjutan keciciran murid.
